New animal control regulation

In February 2021, the municipal council passed a new Animal Control By-law for the Town of Dunham.

Any dog or cat kept on Dunham territory must be spayed or neutered. It is obligatory that the animal now wear a tag, as proof of registration with the Town of Dunham.

  • Permit cost: $20 (taxes included), valid for the life of the animal

How to proceed:

  1. CLICK HERE to download the details concerning the registration of your animal;
  2. CLICK HERE to download the registration form (mandatory to finalize the registration).

Once each animal is registered on the completed form(s) and payment is received at the Town Hall, one medal per animal will be mailed to you. Your furry companion must wear it at all times.

Should the medal be lost or destroyed, the custodian must purchase a replacement medal at the cost of $10 (taxes included).

Please note that microchipping is not mandatory.  If your pet is microchipped, it must still be registered with the Municipality.

For further information or help, please contact the receptionist at the Town Hall at 450 295-2418, extension 0, or by e-mail at accueil@ville.dunham.qc.ca.
