At the ordinary council meeting of February 4, 2020, the Municipal Council of Dunham unanimously adopted regulation no. 396-19 banning the distribution of certain plastic bags.

Plastic bags have now been eliminated from Dunham businesses.  All plastic bags are prohibited, whether they are thick, thin, bio-degradable, oxo-degradable or compostable.

Currently, the resolution adopted by the Town of Dunham does not take into account product packaging.

The Action Environnement Dunham (CAED) committee is working closely with the Town of Dunham and various other players to reflect upon and identify potential options toward the fight against climate change throughout Dunham and its surroundings.

Dunham is following suit of other municipalities, such as Bromont, who have already banned plastic bags.
